Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous Interpretation is used in conferences, seminars, court settings and business meetings where there is more than one working language. It allows the speaker to address the audience and convey his/her message seamlessly, while it is delivered into one or more languages in real time by interpreters.
Our seasoned professional interpreters work in pairs in soundproof booths in order to maintain their concentration during this highly demanding task. Consecutive Interpretation is sometimes used in meetings, interviews, press conferences and court settings, where there are less attendees and there is more time.
It is important for event organizers to note that although this form of interpretation does not require the use of interpretation equipment, it takes longer than simultaneous interpretation.
Consecutive interpretation requires abilities such as great note taking and an excellent memory. While the speaker is talking, the interpreter takes notes and then interprets once the speaker makes a pause or has finished speaking.
